Pan American champ enters the Zone

Last Updated 3/6/2009 7:59:33 AM

Matt Chrabot, the 2008 Pan American Triathlon champion, is our newest Zone athlete.

“Training has been going exceptionally well now that I’ve been taking omega-3s and SeaHealth.  On lighter days I’ll take OmegaRx and when I just grind it out on a hard day, I’ll switch to EicoPro for the most reduction in muscle inflammation and optimal recovery,” he said.

He first heard about Zone Living when he contacted his nutritionist.

“He said that these guys really know their fish oils,” he said.

“One of the biggest things I was concerned with was passing the quality control test with WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).  Any cross-contamination and a positive drug test could easily end my dreams of racing in the 2012 London Olympics.  Zone Living is serious in helping athletes of the highest caliber, so this was a must.  Once I heard the fish oil was cleared by WADA, I began supplementing with OmegaRx and SeaHealth after a day’s worth of training,” he said.

Every day he takes SeaHealth Plus, EicoPro, and OmegaRx.  In January he had Zone Shakes and Bars to hold him over while traveling to Brazil for a short race called the Fast Triathlon.

“It totally cured my hunger pains when I didn’t get my next meal for almost a half day,” he said.

Matt is one of America’s premier up-and-coming triathletes.  His focus, determination, passion, and talent have led him to become the latest addition to the USA Triathlon’s Elite National Team.  He’s rocked the triathlon scene this season with his stellar swim/cycling ability.  His best performances from came from his uncanny cycling power.  In four major races, his breakaways on the bike have led him to breakthrough results (Pan American Championships, US Elite Nationals, Nevis Pan American Cup, and the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon).

Matt said his ultimate goal is the 2012 London Olympic Games.  As the third-ranked American, it’s becoming a very realistic goal.  His primary focus will be the draft legal ITU format, participating in World Cups and the World Championship Series for the next three years.  But with his unprecedented cycling ability, he can’t pass up races like the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon and other high profile non-drafting races in the USA.

With his hard training, Matt really believes he is benefiting from being in the Zone.

“I used to feel trashed at the end of each day.  Since I’ve been taking EicoPro throughout the day on hard training days, I’ve noticed I still have an extra bit of a ‘kick’ during the last workout of a six-hour training day.  One of my main goals is showing up for each training session as close to feeling 100 percent as possible.  Zone’s products have definitely given me that extra push to get through the next,” Matt said.

Zone Living will keep you posted on Matt’s progress.
