Zone Blood Sugar Support is a patented extended-release alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) supplement. This increased plasma lifetime of ALA ensures that it can help with blood sugar metabolism and oxidative stress reduction. ALA is a compound made in trace quantities in human cells; it is a coenzyme involved in oxidative glucose metabolism and blood sugar stabilization.1,2 Studies demonstrate that ALA has significant antioxidant properties.3 ALA also acts as an antioxidant hub due to its capacity to help regenerate other antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamins C and E, and coenzyme Q10.4,5,6 Studies also show supplementation with ALA is efficient in the maintenance of healthy nerve conduction, especially with those who have blood glucose problems.7*

Key Benefits of Zone Blood Sugar Support:

    • Promotes healthy blood sugar8,9
    • Helps recycle and regenerate other antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin E, and CoQ10
    • Extended-Release: Increases time to maximum plasma concentrations by 250%10

Maintaining healthy blood glucose is important because low levels of glucose are detrimental to optimal brain function and high levels of glucose can be problematic. High blood glucose is a reactive compound capable of irreversibly linking to free radical proteins and forming advanced glycosylated end products (AGEs). AGEs can build up with sustained high glucose levels and are associated with accelerated mechanisms of aging.11 This is why the body has developed a number of unique hormonal systems to maintain a range of healthy blood glucose levels. These hormonal systems require the continued use of the Zone Wellness Pyramid to optimize the body’s glucose control mechanisms.

  1. Zone Diet
To maintain healthy blood glucose levels requires a constant balance of protein and low-glycemic load carbohydrates at each meal.
  2. Ultra-Refined EPA/DHA Concentrates
4 capsules per day. Initially a person should start with OmegaRx to reduce the pro-inflammatory potential of excess glucose. After 30 days, begin to slowly replace OmegaRx capsules with EicoRx capsules to promote cellular rejuvenation and continue to regulate pro-inflammatory responses that are the underlying cause of insulin resistance.
  3. SeaHealth Plus
2 tablespoons (30 ml) per day. The polyphenols in SeaHealth Plus are powerful antioxidants that help regulate the free radicals generated by excess blood glucose. These polyphenols also activate the enzyme AMP kinase that directs incoming nutrients to ATP production as opposed to fat storage.
  4. Blood Sugar Support
Take 2 tablets daily. Once you are following the Zone Wellness Pyramid on a consistent basis, you can consider adding a condition-specific supplement to your dietary program to enhance blood glucose control. Alpha lipoic acid acts as a central hub of your antioxidant regeneration system and therefore regulates reactive oxygen species (ROS) induced by excess glucose. ROS are damaging molecules that can contribute to health issues as well as speed up the aging process. By using controlled release ALA, more stable levels of nutrients can be maintained in the blood for longer periods of time.
