As with any function-specific nutrient, optimal effects will only be observed if you are following the Zone Wellness Pyramid. CoQ10 is the nutrient necessary to produce adequate levels of ATP that support the muscular contractions in heart cells. To promote overall heart health, Dr. Sears always recommends the Zone Wellness Pyramid as a base.
Excess insulin increases levels of Arachidonic Acid (AA) and thus increases the production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. By stabilizing insulin levels through eating more protein and low-glycemic carbohydrates, you regulate the activation of the enzyme (delta-5 desaturase) that produces AA, the building block of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. Regulating elevated insulin levels will also regulate the activation of the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase that is the rate limiting step in the formation of cholesterol.
8 capsules per day. EPA and DHA have been demonstrated to regulate the production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. Begin with OmegaRx, after stabilization of EPA levels in about 30 days slowly replace an OmegaRx capsule with EicoRx for your daily dosage.
