My son likes to eat the Zone bars created by Dr. Sears for breakfast. Is it okay for kids to eat Zone Bars? He is 9 years old. Thanks.

I don't see why they would be off limits. However, they probably will not get as many nutrients as they would with veggies and fruits.

Well, my son used to be a good breakfast eater, but within the past 6 months or longer has not been interested in eating any breakfast before school. He did however start eating the Zone bars for breakfast but I have since made him stop because I was not sure if it was okay for kids to eat.

stp, moderation and compromise. let him have zone bars sometimes and regular meals other times.

My 5 year-old daughter loves them! She eats them for breakfast on the days that she goes to day care (3 days a week) when we are in a rush to get out the door. I've been trying to keep her other meals Zone friendly. I also give her Omega-3 from the other Dr. Sears (the pediatrician). She's in great health, she's a happy kid, and really lovely to be around. Here's hoping she's still an angel after she gets all her Halloween candy ;)

I'm all for BARS when there is a hurry and a flurry in movement but there is a basic ZONE philosophy which I seem to be attached to- FRESH IS BETTER.
If you have time to bake I posted a couple of really good ZONED bar and muffin recipes which we really adore. They are all 1 complete block of C F P and are easy to make and delicious. The bars can be used as 'bread' if they are cut lenghwise and put a minute in the Mwave. They're in the HEALTH section on the forum page.

Zone Bars are great for on the run, and are safe for kids, But like Paula suggested it would be nice to give them variety most of the time. My 4 year old loves the bars but I also switch it up most of the time by taking some of the breakfast recipes and serving them to her. It's good to switch it up because kids have the habit of "getting bored" of some types of food, including the bars...
