[/color:459b5d61aa] Hi! My husband and I are about to start the Zone. We used the Formula books about a year ago and had great results, but decided we really like the Zone books. We are excited and lok forward to the changes we hope to see in the future. My question: If you workout, it says to eat a snack before and after. Does this mean to add an extra 2 blocks to every day? Thanks so much for your help! jess

If you've eaten a meal within a couple hours before, you would still be in the Zone from it and would not need the snack before. In this case you'd be best using it after the workout unless you plan to have a meal shortly after.[/color:49a0597570]

Hi, You're welcome. Yes, those times would be fine. I'd probably haev the 4PM snack earlier, but it's fine as is. Timing is flexible as long as you follow the basic Zone guidlines of eating within one hour of waking, not eating more than 5 blocks at a time, not going more than 5 waking hours without a meal or snack, and having the bedtime snack.[/color:4f211bfade]

I've pasted it in below (brown text). If you have more questions, I'd be glad to share my info. Just let me know![/color:02268076e7] I'm 5' 7 1/2". I'm 52, will be 53 in June. I began around 235 (around age 43) and went to 135. I had 105 LBM at the time and now have about 115 or 116 LBM, weight in the mid 140's (the extra 10 lb is the LBM gain). I had no idea I would lose that much. Also, was able to go entirely off of the two blood pressure meds I'd been on for 6 yrs, and remain off them. My BP has never been lower! The addition of Omega RX fish oil was what got me off the bp meds. The sizes I wear now (8, sometimes 6 or 10) seemed like a foreign language to me at first, and cerainly nothing I could relate to buying for myself. My first summer of weighing around 140 my legs looked to me like they belonged to someone else. I was so used to seeing them at a different size. For a couple of years after I first lost wt, people I'd known for years didn't even recongize me when they passed me. The best part is how great you feel! It's amazing how different it feels to be 100 lb lighter. 10 yrs ago I would get winded going for a walk up the street. Three out of the past 4 days I've spent a couple hrs walking up and down a local small mountain in my snowshoes, something I never could have done 10 yrs ago (today did it in boots, not enough snow left for snowshoes...but there's hope for tomorrow because it's snowing right now). Since the wt loss, I run, do TaeBo and step aerobics, strenght trianing, and I'm an avid hiker. Have even hiked up Tuckerman's Ravine on Mt Washington, in NH, in winter. Also, as the long time forum members know, in the past 4 yrs I've had major brain surgery for a benign tumor, and also a mastectomy and reconstruction for a very early stage breast cancer. All the surgery has been successful, and I'm fine, cancer free for 2 1/2 yrs (except just had 3 sts. in my thumb today...cut it cutting a grapefruit for lunch!). I have one more reconstructive surgery to go in a few mos. I attribute a big part of the excellent recoveries I've been able to make to the Zone. My wt. went up after each surgery, due to drugs during surgery and inactivity for a few mos while recovering, but eventually each time it went back down.[/color:02268076e7]

Today is our first day, and I can't wait to start seeing results. how long did it take for you to notice any difference? Also, Dr Sears recommends several supplements, which, if any, did/do you take? Thanks for your help and support!! Jess[/i:3d923f2505][/color:3d923f2505][/b:3d923f2505]
