Hi. I'm new to the Zone. I'm wondering how to mix eating a 3P breakfast with exercising early in the morning.
I get up at 5:30 a.m. and have to leave for work by 7:00 a.m. Within that 90 minute period I would like to do about 30 minutes of yoga, running or take a walk. When and how would I break up the breakfast? Would this make sense:
1. Have a 1P zone-balanced protein bar when I wake up at 5:30 a.m.
2. Exercise at 6:00 a.m. for about half an hour.
3. Eat a 2P breakfast protein drink on my way to work.
What do you guys think? |

[color=darkred:6b238ebde4]It would be fine to split a 3 block breakfast into a one block snack upon waking and other two blocks after you exercise. Make sure the bars and snacks you're eating are really zone balanced and, more inportantly, that they'll really keep you in the Zone (judging this by no hunger at 4 hrs after the meal).[/color:6b238ebde4] |

I'm religious about working out in the morning - I literally get out of bed and get on my elliptical trainer. I used to eat a handful of raisins until this week when I started to try to get in the zone. My workouts last from anywhere between 35 mins to 80 mins - depending on how early my kids wakeup. I don't really do a hard workout - it probably equates to fast walking because of the arm movements or walking with weights. Taking that into consideration, is it okay to have a zone snack and then working out without waiting the 30 minutes???? :? |
