I guess I am confused... I am having issues with regard to some forum posts that are disappearing. An entire topic that I posted last week is gone, then today a post by techie has disappeared after I replied to it. Then, when I posted in this forum about the disappearing act, now THAT post is gone, too!! I honestly don't know what is going on (I joked about it in the previous post and assumed that the gremlins took the posts), but perhaps there is a bigger issue that IT needs to look at? I mean, isn't it strange that so many posts are suddenly disappearing in such a short timeframe? Is anyone else having difficulty like this? Or have I broken a forum rule? (however that would not explain why techie's post disappeared) HELP!! |

I was not worried about my post being gone. if I recall it, I posted a sentence that was basically "off topic" and really had no value for the individual visiting the forum... I would not get to worked up about it. Sytems do have issues from time to time and people are not always perfect... There is a system in place where post are removed based the the rules and regulations of the forum. For example: Advertisng another site, stalking, off topic post, self promotion, profanity etc. etc. action is taken. These rules and regulations are in place for everyone's enjoyment. Now again.. It is not perfect but it works really well. We have a informative and helpful Forum that is void of many of the issues and problems of other forums; this is due to the systems, rules and regulations we have in place. Now I will say have been times that I have seen; when a person is skirting the line of some of these rules, an alert is activated and the post is removed. It is unfortunate and has only happen a few times that I know of. The good thing is it appears you reposted and the Topic remained.

Thank you, techie, for the informative response. So, can you give me any feedback on the reason for the previous thread being deleted? My new post is basically the same as the old one (not word-for-word, but very similar). I am aware of the forum rules and just want to know why. Feel free to reach me by email, if you would rather continue this conversation elsewhere (I am sure you have access to that without my posting it...) And, you should never discount the value of a post, even if it is your own! I don't believe that the post was "off topic", as it was a response to my post, which remains (as far as I am aware of). If you felt it had value when you posted it, then you should not remove it, otherwise don't post it in the first place. I just wanted to be sure that there was no systems problem, with the way posts are disappearing recently. |

Tech Support CC’s post doesn’t appear to have broken any of the forums rules. I know she is very strong about abiding by them. Her topic was about the positives of journaling and how it had helped her weight to start shifting. The post was a positive one with a helpful suggestion. When reading it I could feel the passion from CC. I was happy to hear that CC had found it a helpful tool for her. It is always good to hear others suggestions as it might be the one thing we could also use for ourselves. Sue K often suggests that people post their days food for critiquing just in case they have not grasped the concept of the blocks or something might need tweaking. Isn’t that along the same lines as journaling? It appears that CC’s posts are the only ones disappearing at this point in time. It would be good to hear from others who might be experiencing the same problem so that this can be investigated by your IT area.

Margaret.. You can be sure we are keeping an eye on things.. You would be shocked at what some people are doing with these forums and the lengths they will go too. |
