I started crossfit about 6 weeks ago along with modified low carb eatting. Crossfit people are PALEO and I don't see myself being a paleo person so they also suggested THE ZONE. I am buying the book tomorrow on my day off. Frig is already stock with tons of veggies, chicken and salmon so I think I can work with the parameters of the zone the groceries I get. I just need help in how to put it all together.

I am definitely starting to feel stronger from crossfit but I want to lose 25 lbs as well. Anyone of here done both ZONE and Crossfit? Is it a good fit?

I don't personally do crossfit, but lots of people combine the two. Good luck!

    Hello Rebecca

Yes we have a strong bond with CrossFit. Greg Glassman loves the Zone. Actually, If you read Barry's first book "Entering the Zone" look at the inside cover of the jacket. Barry writes "we should be eating like cavemen and not like cows" , talks about our genes not changing in the last 100,000 years and how 8,000 years ago there were no pasta or bread.. I may be a bit bias, but after reading a large amount of material from several Paleo authors I always feel like I am reading exerpts for "Entering the Zone".

The paleo is a good way to eat and is the closest "way of life" to what Barry Sears has been saying for 25 years. However, it is my opinion that the "ZoneDiet" is far superior for the individual and the athlete alike. A Paleo diet without the checks and balances of the Zone is at best (i am sorry to say)...lacking.

Check out The Power of Z2 site. It is a micro-site we develpoed for the athlete. http://thepowerofz2.com/#!/
