I've been following the Zone diet like clockwork for around 7 weeks with great results! Then came the colonoscopy this week. Bad news, I have to have between 25-35 grams of fiber daily. That's a lot of veggies, which is no problem. My problem is monitoring the fiber content. I also take fish oil. Any suggestions? |

There are several apps or online websites you can use to look-up and keep track of your fiber intake. I like Spark People, an on-line website, as I do not use a smart phone. So, I can not give you any suggestions for good apps you can use.

Jean, congrats on you progress with the Zone! It's not going to be as challenging for you as you might think to get that amount of fiber each day. You'll find you won't need to track and count it, because you're probably already getting that much. The 10-12 servings of fruits and vegetables you're normally eating daily with the Zone diet are averaging somewhere between 2-3 grams fiber per serving. Voila, there's your 25-35 grams of fiber. Check it out with your online resources and you'll see what I mean. Good luck! |

It is good you have no problem in eating a lot of veggies. As we all know, some of us find it hard to eat vegetables, I myself cannot eat some vegetables, usually I made smoothies out of them. |
