    hi cranberrycat,

long time no chat! lol ...

i'm trying to make your smoothie, now, and i can't seem to find the recipe for it that you shared one time.

it had greek yogurt in it, and ... cottage cheese? and ... blueberries? (that's what I have anyway ...)

I have a blender now, so I wanna make smoothies ...

Oh! I remember now. It's your breakfast smoothie?

If you could let me know that would be great ... :-)

    Hey!

So, the ingredients are: plain nonfat yogurt, cottage cheese, strawberries, plain or vanilla protein powder, and olive oil.

    I use:
    1/2 cup yogurt
    1/4 cup cottage cheese
    1 cup frozen strawberries
    Protein powder-enough for 7g protein
    2 tsp olive oil

This makes a smoothie with 3P-2C-3F. You can certainly increase the fat to 5 blocks by adding 2/3 tsp more olive oil. I usually have my fish oil when I have the smoothie, so I generally don't increase the fat, but it is fine to do so.
For those who are not carb sensitive, just increase the strawberries to 2 cups.

    awesome, thanks!

i assume this is a full 3P, 2C, 5F smoothie? the rest of the carbs comes from the cottage cheese and/or the yogurt?

Cottage cheese is mostly Protein with a some fat, depending upon 0 Fat, low fat or regular (full Fat) version.
Yogurt, unless greek or greek style is Protein and Carbs.
If you use Greek yogurt or greek style, read label and add more fruit as Carbs.
Typically mixed berries, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries are about 2/3 cup per block of Carbs.
Just read the labels, unless using fresh berries,
then go by the Food Block guide.

    @Sarah/Alexy,
I broke down the P/C/F ratio below the recipe, don't know if you saw that.

The carb in the cottage cheese is negligible, I don't worry too much about it, but if you are concerned about it, then just cut back the fruit by a bit.
And, it is 3F unless you use products with fat in it, or increase the olive oil by 2/3 tsp. I didn't list my cottage cheese fat content, but I generally use nonfat or lowfat.

I use an peanut butter equivalent of 3F in this smoothie. Also, I like to add some cinnamon and cocoa to it.

I love smoothies, it is not only a good refreshment but at the same time I can gain good benefit. I usually made smoothies from fruits and vegetables, somehow it is one way "to eat" a certain vegetable which I usually don't eat.
