I've been in the zone eleven years and each year I've been doing it more precisely. I can say I do it 99% but lately on a really tough day I've been pampering myself with a hot chocolate..or a beer...I like doing things 100%...any suggestion to stay on the zone even on those moments?

hot cocoa is really not too far off the Zone. Heat up some milk, then mix in some unsweetened cocoa powder. I enjoy it without sweetener, but you can add some if you want to.

Treat beer as you would a carb. I believe that you count the carbs as a block, and the alcohol is also counted. So a can of beer is like 3 blocks, in all. It is not a favorable carb, so just keep that in mind.

Ernesto try these ideas for enjoying hot cocoa and beer in a Zone-friendly. Try mixing a Zone chocolate hake into warm milk (a favorite at my house. Choose a light beer and always have a protein chaser to balance it.
