Hi, I like to fry some of my cooking and I know that Dr. Sears is against cooking with vegetable oil because of the Omega-6 oils which is bad for you. But I came across this cooking oil by crisco and it says it has omega-3 oils in it. Does this mean it is ok to fry things in them? Also, can a company lie about their oil content? Does any food manufacturer have to pass through FDA testing in order to get their products there on the shelf? And lastly, how can I test any oils for Omega-3 and Omega-6 which they claim to be? |

I'd stick with olive oil and the other monounsaturated fats recommended for the Zone (olives, avocado, almonds, etc.). |

I would write the company and ask for specifics, then you would know the type of fats and how much of each. |

Thanks Sue and John for your reply. It makes sense. I will do just that. |
