So I've been in the Zone for about a week now, and loving it. I have more energy, my sleep issues have gotten better, and the list goes on. So, I'm looking to drop in bf%; I used to be pretty lean, but school (gotta love senior year!) and stress (and poor eating habits) have made me put on a substantial amount of weight :( For the past week, I've been eating 14 blocks per day, as that was what I had come up with one of the Zone books. After still feeling hungry, even though I had no unfavorable carbs and drank at least 8 oz of water at every meal and snack, I went on to this site and calculated my block needs. It breaks down as follows:

    Your Results
    Body Fat %: 30
    Body Fat Weight (lbs): 48
    Lean Body Mass (lbs): 112
    Daily Protein Requirement (g): 112
or # of Blocks of Protein: 16
    # of Blocks of Carbohydrate: 16
    # of Blocks of Fat: 16

This is with the highest activity level selected, because I do some sort of physical activity anywhere from 2 to 4 hours a day.
So, my question is, is this too many blocks for me too lose weight?
Will excessive balance it out? I do Crossfit (3 days on, one day off) and martial arts for 2-3 hrs a night as well which really builds up a sweat.

Just trying to make sure I'm on the right track here.

Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated! :):)

Melissa use the "Very Active" level in the Zone calculator and eat 14 or 15 blocks daily, same amount every day. When you eat appropriately for your LBM and activity it is not excessive to eat the same amount on the on the days when you exercise less. You need the protein on those days too, for muscle repair.
