I don't know if this forum is the right one for this but anyhow here goes:

Vegan for 5 years, but rest of family are omnivores.

Enjoy vegan foods but want to be more a part of the family at the table, also, not enough room in freezer/frige for keeping mine and theirs. Also, the hormonal and cardiovascular benefits seem if not an improvement, at least on a par with vegan eating habits.

Anybody else made this move? Zone seems like some work (being more precise about amounts/blocks etc) but I'm tired of being separate. Living in the Midwest there AINT a whole lot of choice if we go out together.

There is the eye-ball plate method which is less complicated than blocks method.
1/3 plate (deck of cards size) protein and 2/3 plate mostly Favorable vegetables and some Favorable fruit if desired, and a dash of healthy fat.

    Thanks John,

OK, that is a pretty quick way to do it. The dash of healthy fat - is that like a few almonds or peanuts?

Doug, think of it as a small handful. A man would typically add 12 almonds to a 4 block meal, or about twice that many peanuts.

Doug, here's some more info about it: http://www.zonediet.com/tools/zone-classic

I've been successfully using Zone "At-a-Glance" for most of the past 18 years.

Thanks for the clues Sue. I need to make it easy and it looks like there is plenty of guidance here at this site.

By the bye, cute kid in your picture. Wish I still had one that age. Sippy cups!
