I'm looking at a smoothie recipe in the Top 100 Zone Foods book and it calls for 20 grams. Just how many tablespoons would that be? Guess I should have paid closer attention in my grade school math class!

Lucinda, it depends on the composition of your protein powder. For Zone Protein Powder 3 scoops would be about 20 grams (the scoop comes in the canister). For other brands, you'd determine the amount for 20 grams by looking on the nutrition label on the product.

Most scoops from lots of different products, Protein and other, are either 1 Tbl or 2 Tbl.
    If that helps.
1 scoop of most brands of protein powder range from about 18 grams of Protein to 22 grams of Protein.
You can not convert volume measure (tBl) to weight measure (grams),
And besides, the amount of protein in Protein powders is not the weight of one scoop,
but the weight of the Protein in that scoop measure.
