20 Aug 2012 03:58 PM Hello Everyone, I have questions. I used the online calculation tools for % of body fat and my numbers were 31% body fat, daily protein requirement of 77, and then it says 11 blocks protein, 11 carbs, and 11 fat blocks per day. This doesn't seem right. I am looking to lose 10 pounds, I'm 5'4 I'm 140 pounds, not very active, and very confused at the moment. Has the Zone diet changed at all? My friend said 11 blocks in total for the day. 3, 3, 1, 3, 1. My understanding is that there are equal blocks of PCF at each meal as well? Is that true. So for the sake of ease a balanced meal for me at dinner might be: 3oz chicken breast 3 cups Broccolli 3 Whole Almonds Also, how do I figure out blocks in food from the label? I am thinking Fat free Greek Yogurt, I live on it. Thanks for helping the Newbie!

20 Aug 2012 05:56 PM 7 grams of Protein per block times 11 blocks equals 77 grams Protein per day. YES, equal 11 blocks Favorable Carbs and 11 blocks good Fats. 11 blocks carbs = 11 x 9 = 99 grams Carbs per day. 11 blocks fat = 11 x 3 = 33 grams Fat per day. Each meal and/or snack should be equally balanced blocks Fat, Carbs, and Protein. So, yes a 3 block meal - 3 blocks 21 grams Protein, 3 blocks 27 grams Fav Carbs, and 3 blocks 9 grams of good Fats. NOTE: DR. Sears refers to Fats as mini blocks of 1.5 grams. Because some food has some Fat so you only add additional fat of 1.5 grams per block, to get total fat per block of 3 grams. For labels, read the label. Greek yogurt is a very favorable food, good protein source. Total COUNTABLE Carbs = Total Carbs on label minus Fiber ~john --> Happily married 26 years --> 07 Feb 1986 <>< <>< <>< <>< PTL Col 3:23-24 ><> ><> ><> ><> Live the healthiest life you can enjoy, not the healthiest life you can tolerate.
