I've been taking 8 OmegaRX capsules with Sea Health Plus for about a month and I feel very good. For over 30 years I've been trying to cure chronic neck pain and I feel like I've tried everything except surgery. I'm Reading the OmegaRX Zone and I want to try upping my fish oil to 16 caps (which is I think the maximum recommended) to see if my pain is caused by too many bad eicosanoids, or not. (in one of Dr Sears' other books he said something about neck and back pain sometimes being caused by structural problems rather than inflammation and I want to finally determine if mine is from inflammation or something else)

I will switch to the liquid OmegaRX if it's palatable mixed with Sea Health Plus. Is it?

Been reading many of your post and I enjoy following your progress and adjustments.

Taking the Liquid OmegaRX with the Seahealth plus is a great way to take the two. Dr Sears combines them every day. He also takes a PolyphenolXT. If you do switch to the liquid 4 teaspoons is equal to 16 caps.I would suggest that you increase your dosage over a few days so that your body adjust. If your stool begins to soften backoff a little and increase at a slower pace.

The neck is tricky... Have some personal experience with spinal, neck and shoulder injuries (Disk L5,S1 herniated disc operated on 1990, torn AC and torn rotater cuff left shoulder, small herination in neck) I am very active, golf, surf, play soccer, play softball and kayake.

You could have shoulder issues that are radiating pain to the neck. Maybe a good idea to have it looked at before you up your dosage. Pinch nerve is always possible as well. MRI would be my first move.

    Larry,

I tend to agree with techie, regarding having that neck looked at. Fish oil can be helpful, but it isn't going to correct a structural problem, like a herniated disc, for instance. Perhaps you already have done this, and just looking for a way to manage it without going to surgery, but just be sure you know what you are dealing with before you treat it.

I have a friend who has a herniated disc in her neck, she is in her late 30's and has 3 children just a bit younger than mine. She has been dealing with it for over a year, and she is going to be having surgery next week.

Thanks - I haven't had an MRI. I've been working with chiropractors for many years and the one I'm seeing now corrected my posture from slumped over to perfect & youthful over about a year with a technique called NeuroCranial Restructuring. So, I've ruled out structurally bad posture as a cause. I think you are both probably right that getting the MRI is probably a better next step than increasing fish oil.

Larry, if you do decide to increase fish oil here's another tip. Here is the way Dr. Sears advised my son, who was 16 at the time, to increase to that dose of Omega Rx. Take half the amount for one week and then increase to the full amount over the next week. That gives you two weeks to reach the full amount of the increase. As Tech said, use stool consistency as an increase. Dr. Sear's advice to us has been (warning, graphic, lol) it's not too loose long as the stool retains some form and is not is not water. All water, back off on the dose. If you're wondering, my son was never able to stay at the full 16g dose. He backed off to 1 tablespoon (about 8 grams) and he had excellent results. Actually amazing results. You might be able to find more about him here with a search (try searching ADD).
