Hi - and please excuse me if I should have posted this ina different area, I'm not familiar enough with the forums.

My quesiton is how do you eat when you aren't sure what times you'll be able to eat.

I had an all day meeting today and only a few break times which I didn't know in advance, except I figured lunch would be ~noon with a 9a start, and end by 5p. I knew I had to leave by 5:10 to make my 6p workout (legs, weightlifting).

So I ate 2 blocks at 8:45, 3 more at noon, and drone drone I about died in the meeting so when we broke at 3 (and I didn't know if we'd break again before 5) I ate another block. I wasn't hungry, but my mental state was comatose.

How do you plan blocks around indeterminate times like this? And do you think my comatose state was bc of what I ate and when, not bc of the all day meeting (that challenged even the most engaged minds)?

    Thanks
    Sue

Not knowing what you ate, it would only be a guess. What I do is keep Zone bars and Zone cookies with me. Both are excellent for meal replacements and snacks. A similar thing happened to me Monday. I'd made a lunch and snacks but i forgot to grab the bag out of the fridge when I left. I was gone for over 12 hours with 3 meetings, and the emergency Zone bars I keep in the car and my purse came in very handy (all 5 of them!).

Jane, sometimes it does happen, and depending on how formal the meeting is, snacking during a meeting may not be allowed nor appropriate. I would never dream of snacking during a meeting with the CEO, for instance!

I think you did a good job of predicting when the breaks would be. Without knowing what you actually ate, it could have been a number of things, sometimes a boring subject and a stuffy room will have the same effect.
