Hi Zoners!
I have been on the Zone Diet for 2 weeks now and have lost 10 lbs! Is this good? The book says 1.5 lbs a week is good. I think I am losing water but am making it up by drinking about 3 liters a day. My ankles are not swollen anymore :D:D, which is GREAT! My body feels lighter and softer, kind of jiggly actually  Anyway, back to the point - is 10 lbs in 2 weeks a bit too much? Or is this just the initial water loss because I have cut down on sodium as well. Dr. Sears says, "excess insulin activates another hormonal system that promotes sodium retention". So I am thinking that the sodium retention system, which made me retain so much water in my body has been deactivated now?
I am sure the weight loss will slow down in a week or so, but any answers will be welcome! Thanks folks!

I wouldn't be concerned. I think it's an initial loss of retained fluid.

I would agree with Sue.. Continue to monitor your progress. If your continue to lose at that pace: take a closer look.

Yazmine,
I agree, I believe this is just the result of initial release of water retention. Things should level off soon to a more constant, steady rate.
