Ok. I started having post nasal drip and normally it's really really annoying and frustrating. in my case, weirdly, I do not understand it. when I lie down to go to sleep. my post nasal drip consolidates after 15 minutes and blocks my nasal breathing. i keep starting to nod off and then boom! i wake up. last night I had NO sleep because of this. I am nervous that tonight will be another awful night. i'm having a lot of trouble thinking clearly. so now I'm waiting to see a doctor and be referred to an allergy person. In the meantime, as far as I can see, I'm zoning pretty well as far as I can see. my cortisol levels are up due to my not sleeping. I'm close to panicing which does not help obviously, so I am using EFT to calm myself down and accept what comes. But I'm now wondering, I'm on 15 grams of FO right now, if I double that, and do so for the next week, would it act quickly to reduce the inflammation so that the post nasal drip becomes less? so it could start acting in, say, 2 days, since FO has an half life of 2 days? it's annoying to have the drip. but i'd rather have the drip annoying me than to have it block my nasal breathing so i can't sleep. i am trying out different thigns ... one thing i am trying out is sinusalia, a homeopathic medicine by boiron. i'm using the neilmed sinuflu ready rinse too. etc. ideas? suggestions? etc.... sarah

Also ... I do not understand it. my parents are much older and they have the drip, but they sleep with the drip. why is it my own drip blocks my breathing, but theirs doesn't block their breathing? sarah |

Sarah, I've not tried this myself but some people get allergy relief from NAMBUDRIPAD ALLERGY ELIMINATION TECHNIQUE (NAET). It's kind of 'out there' but not any more 'out there' than EFT is. You can read about it by googling it. If you're in a big city you may have a practitioner nearby. I'm thinking about doing it myself, but it will be several months before I do. They use muscle testing to determine what you are sensitive / allergic to and then needle-free acupuncture to clear it. I've done the initial free test. I was sensitive to all of the first 10 basic foods that they test for but especially sensitive to grains. My sinus issue isn't near as bad as yours but I've been on the Zone Diet twice and it flares up when I'm on it, so it's caused by something that I'm eating on the Zone that I didn't eat when I was trying a different diet. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon. |

I'm woozy right now from lack of sleep ... lol. I do actually have NAET nearby, I didn't know if it was legitimate or not ... but yes, you are right, EFT is 'out there' and it works! :-) So you think it could be a food allergy on my part? I was eating pollock around the clock. I stopped right away. I also split up my meals and started eating every 2 hour to 2 and half hours to avoid triggering my reflux, although I've not felt any pain, but it still could cause the drip, who knows. whoops! Gotta eat again ... I feel like a rabbit munching away!! But the food works ... Sarah |

Hi Sarah - I saw you were going to go to an allergist, so I shared the NAET stuff. It might not be an allergy, at all. It could be a sinus infection. Please let us know if the sinusalia works. I usually don't get any relief from homeopathics accept for Calms Forte which is a GREAT sleep aid. |

Hi there Larry, Sure, I'll do that. Calms Forte sounds cool, so I will try that AFTER I get my allergies under control. I just increased my FO this morning and will stick to that for one week. I'll let you know about the Sinusalia, and, since I'm doing a few other things at the same time, it gets hard to know which one works ... LOL. Sarah |
