    IMHO it should be possible to edit a post within an hour or so after submitting it.
    There are lots of instances where people (including me!) post 2 or 3 things because they need to complement what they said in a previous post, that got locked.

    I actually prefer it the way that it is. I believe that it causes one to think before they post. Yes, we all understand typos and such, but this way keeps comments from getting out of hand because there is no way to undo a post once it is there.
