Can I start exercise during pregnancy? It is frequently asked question. Yes, doing exercise during pregnancy is safe under normal conditions. This means if you are going through a healthy pregnancy then exercise would not harm you or your baby at all. What exercise is safe during pregnancy? Swimming, walking and light aerobics are safe during pregnancy. How exercise during pregnancy is beneficial? Pregnancy exercises are beneficial in a sense that they keep you away from the pregnancy discomforts. You will not feel pain in the back which is more common in those pregnant women who are underweight. |

Linda.. A good suggestion would be for anyone who wants to "start" exercising during pregnancy should discuss this with their physician. |

Linda, it sounds like you answered your own question! I would refer anyone to discuss exercise with their physician, especially if starting a new exercise regimen. |

Yes. You should ask your doctor or OB about this if you could do exercise. At some point, he or she would help you or guide you on what exercise could be done during pregnancy. Try to consult her. Of course, with exercise, the right foods must be eaten. |

I agree with others, you have to ask your physician about this, since he knows what is the best for you... |

There are exercise routines that you can accomplish even if you are pregnant. However, you need to seek advice from your OBGyne before you start doing any exercises. |

Pregnancy is a very delicate and somehow dangerous stage of a woman, exercise maybe a must in that stage but only a very light exercises, better yet, consulting a doctor or your ob gyne is a safe way. |

I hope to put this subject to bed. If you exercise, decide to exercise or stop exercising during Pregnancy you should not listen to anyone on a Forum. Please ask you doctor. |

Always consult your doctor before starting an exercise program when you're pregnant. |

My 2 cents... If you start exercise during pregnancy, please check with your doctor. Exercise is healthy and you SHOULD be exercising during pregnancy. But, some exercises are better than others for pregnant women, and this is what should be reviewed. Also, some women have conditions in which activity is not advised... The key point is that if you have been exercising all along, and it is a safe activity that does not require balance, then exercise is fine. But, don't start a brand new exercise program in your 9th month! |
