I notice the recommendation for the Omega-3 capsules is a dosage of 4 grams per day. That would work out, by my count, to about 2.5 fat blocks. Should that amount be subtracted from the rest of the diet, so that, essentially, you're eating 3-4 carb blocks, 3-4 protein blocks, and somewhat less than 3-4 fat blocks per meal? Or, if you take a dose with a meal, and are using the simplified divide-the-plate method, do you factor that in as your "fat" serving, and so don't add an extra serving of fat to the plate?

Fish oil is usually considered supplemental to the fat in your meals, though you could count it if you want. |

Hello, I'm new to the forums but a longtime Zone person. Have been hospitalized and off the program almost two years and am feeling miserable. NEED to get back. I want to take one tablespoon of Omega RX a day to deal with killer inflammation. Is that 12 caps a day? Is that safe? Elizabeth's |

Yes, that would be just about equal. The liquid fish oil is dosed a bit different than the capsules, but very close. So, 4 capsules has just about the same amount omega-3 as a teaspoon. So, a tablespoon (3 teaspoons) would be equal to 12 capsules, or thereabouts. |

Elizabeth Many of your customers take the exact same amount of OmegaRX as you have mentioned and have great results. It may be a good idea to start with a Teaspoon and then increase amount over a weeks time to be sure your body is tolerant of that amount you are taking. ( If you experience soft stools back off a little on amount for a few days and then increase slowly. ) You may want to consider including Dr Sears's Polyphenol XT when taking your OmegaRX. To maximize the anti-inflammatory benefits of omega-3 fatty acids, it is always recommended to take an adequate dose of purified polyphenols to protect the omega-3 fatty acids from oxidation in the body as well as inhibit the master switch for inflammation. |
