Where are corrections for the books? Some of the recipes don't turn out right, and I would like to know what's missing.

I will call the number to ask about recipes I've already tried or am suspicious of.

But having an online errata page would be a big help. Sometimes it's too late to call the number when the only solution is to just start all over again with another recipe that works. And when you're in the middle of cooking and suddenly realize something is wrong, making a phone call is inconvenient to say the least.

Please consider adding an errata page to the website.

We are in the process of updating our entire recipe page. It is actualy a much bigger project then we expected... Fell free to tweak the recipes slightly. If you have specific recipe that you have questions about do call.

Most individual will make slight adjustments to meet their individual make up. You can also touch base with Sue on these forum pages.. She started a new page with recipes that she has put together.

Dr. Sears says not to obsess over any of the program- it make things seem much less intimidating.

Zone At-a-Glance™ - The Simplified Approach to get you started

On 1/3rd of your plate, put a piece of lean protein the size and thickness of your palm.

Examples: skinless chicken, fish, egg whites, tofu.

Fill the remaining 2/3rds of your plate with fruits and vegetables.

Most fruits and vegetables are fine, but avoid things like corn and bananas.

Add a dash of heart-healthy monoun-
    saturated fat.

    Examples: Olive Oil, Almonds, Avocado.

    Avoid trans-fats.

When techie mentioned "not to obsess over any of the program", this really rings true for me.

A former forum member had posted once, "the Zone is just that...a Zone. Not an exact spot, but a range between 2 points. Like a parking space. You are in the parking zone if your car does not go over the line"

Years ago, when I first started, I initially had good success during that first year. Didn't meet my weight goal, and did hit some bumps, but I got really good help on things when I participated in the forums.

However, back at that time, I ended up becoming "obsessive" over managing the block system, and I felt like I had failed when I didn't do things perfectly. I managed to at least maintain the weight that I had lost over the next year or 2. But, ran into some trouble when things came to a head, i.e. multiple stressors, feeling like "why do I bother when I am not succeeding", etc. So, for a period, I gave up and just went back to normal eating. Fortunately not for long, because I realized over a short period of time that I was quickly gaining weight back! At that point, I realized that I WAS successful in the Zone, EVEN if I had not reached my goal weight! Success isn't measured by weight alone. The mere fact that I was controlling my blood sugars, and had NOT developed Diabetes, was really the success that I was after. Weight/fat loss is really more of a "side effect".

So, making a long story short, I am still here, still plugging away at it (slowly). But, one thing changed for me... I don't OBSESS over it. If I make a mistake or go OOZ, its all fine. Just go right back at it. I find that it does not really matter that I have EXACTLY the right number of carbohydrate grams. A little more or a little less is JUST FINE.

BTW, I do agree about the errata page, there used to be one posted somewhere, maybe it was on Dr. Sears' website at www.drsears.com. I have seen it, but honestly have not looked for it very recently.

It's always good to have a reminder not to get bogged down in details, so thanks for that!

But I am in fact asking for corrections to recipes in the Zone books that have actual errors in them, such as missing ingredients or wrong amounts. A recipe needs to come out as expected even apart from being correctly in the Zone.

I continue to hope an errata page will be added to the website.
