Hello after DR Sears inroduced Eico rx i have done some self experiments with my ratio and it seemed that 3 omega and 1 eico rx caps worked fine for me... Now that i am in my Masters degree the time for 100% zone diet meals and everyday training sessions seem like a lost paradise. You think with the propably increased inflamation from the increase on starchy grains i should correspond with a change in my Omega rx - Eixo rx ratio??? Also i notice that when i try liquid and not capsules it has a great effect on me i become very sleepy after a few hours .. any idea why??? |

Hi Alexander, Good to hear from you again! Your sleepiness could possible mean you are taking too much EPA. Sleepiness can also be caused by eating too much carbohydrate in proportion to protein, and/or too many unfavorable carbohydrates (you mentioned eating more starchy grains). I'd suggest using the Eicosanoid Status Report to determine your needs. You'll find a link to it here: http://drsears.com/Resources/tabid/...fault.aspx |

Hey Sue , so good to talk again...You and cranberry are the only persons i remember for years in the forum...yeah i got lost for a while with the college i have no time to log in the forum and participate in the discussions but its good to be back and not forget what keeps you healthy. Yeah i am trying to use it but i think it was too much epa because with the liquid you can not be 100% sure about the dossage like with the capsules and it was that characteristic feeling of too much Epa haha .. I think a year ago you suggested me to try the 1 eico 3 omega capsules..if i remember correctly.. still use that combination... |

Hi, Good that you found your way back here with your busy schedule. Good luck with your Master's degree. Since you're only taking the minimum dose, the equivalent of about 4 capsules, that may not be the cause of your sleepiness. But your observations interesting. Try going without fish oil for 7 days. This allows time to lessen the amount in your system . Then resume with a dose of 1 tsp liquid Omega RX or 4 capsules of Omega RX , instead of what you've been taking. Let us know how you're feeling after that. In the meantime it would give you helpful info to fill out the Eicosanoid Status Report now , then again after you go without fish oil for a week, and then once a week or so until you've finished a full 30 days bCk on the fish oil.. Keep us updated! |

I personally think that the combo of less exercise and using your brain more (and the stress of school) has made you more sleepy. I feel more energized and have less hypoglycemia when I find time to exercise (which i haven't had time for lately, it seems). Also, changes like a new job or school or a move cause stress and that can wear you down. I'd think that the starches foods, of course, also affect you. Even the ancient chinese book of yellow medicine (wrong name , I think, but similar) warns against big and/or sudden changes. |
