Please someone help!!! Okay "Zone products" used to sell Zone Shake mix in a can and I loved it!!!!!!!! they have discontinued it and I need to find something else that is Zone friendly.. for example... health food stores sell Chocolate protein powder that you can make Shakes with.. So I need to know what "Brand is In The Zone.. I am aware that they sell some new type of drink but I can not afford them I need a powder I can make shakes with PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I wrote the Zone people to ask them and they referred me to the forums.. I've looked through some Forums but No one really tells the brand they use and I think making smoothies and shakes might be two different powders.. ? |

Almost ant good protein powder, you should be able to use. i would stay away from Soy based. And I would choose Protein powder from concentrated, low, minimally processed whey and NOT from protein ISOLATES. Zone Foods does have a protein powder you can use to make your own... |

I have used many protein powders, and all of the ones that I have used give me basically the same results. Look for one that is basically protein. You will find some brands that seem to have a lot more carb in them than what you really want to have. I think that is probably the most important tip, just making sure that there is ample protein and very little carb. Watch for fat content, most don't have much, but you may need to adjust. If I am shopping at Whole Foods Market, I usually pick up a can of Biochem. However, I am about 1 1/2 hours away from the nearest store, and I have found a brand at a more local store (K Mart) that is less expensive and seems to do the trick just fine (however, I don't recall the name of it). |

Anita, I like Zone Protein powder and Zone Shakes the best of all the brands I've tried. Both can be purchased on this website. To find out more, click on "Products" (above), and then click on "Bars & Shakes". |

I usually don't add banana to my smoothies as it is an unfavorable carb. However, a small portion, i.e. a block or less (1/3 of banana or less) is fine to add if one can tolerate having a little unfavorable carb in their meals. |

Confession: As an unfavorable food, I have NOT had a banana since starting the Zone just over 8 years ago! And, some times, I miss them. I do not crave them, nor would I go banana's if I were to eat one (pun intended). I just could not eat only 1/3 of a banana. I wish, though, we could eat banana's like berries. Have one whole banana and have it count as one favorable block of Carbohydrates. Alas ... it was not meant to be, poor Horatio .... |
