    Hello!

My history with the zone is I used to do it about 12 years ago. I loved it and I loved how it made me feel. However, I was single and no kids. 12 years later and definitely heavier, married and with kids and hypothyroidism, I am challenged all the time with weight.

With recent events in my life, I've had it with the yo-yo diets. I decided to go back to what made me feel better and good and not worry about how it comes off just as long as it does. I need to put away the scale and focus on the way the Zoning makes me feel.

I've been back following the Zone, the classic way and measuring. I am 4 weeks in, and I'm now hitting a boredom wall. I struggle with my carbs. I struggle finding carbs to eat for dinner. I can do breakfast and lunches and snacks, but I'm bored. I don't have problems with portion sizes now. I find myself with wanting to eat sugar only because of boredom feelings. I avoid it and get myself thru it. But I think it's the food. I've looked thru recipes and it's not doing it for me.

Can someone help motivate me to not switch to Weight Watchers and stay focused here. Can someone post some smoothie recipes, chkn recipes for dinners. I need a change. It's very hard to eat what I eat, make something different for my husband and my son....Tell me the positives of this versus Weight Watchers.

    Thank you!

    H

    Hi Holly,

The positives of the Zone, where do I start? lol No hunger, no deprivation, satisfying meals and snacks, hormonal control (it totally turned my life around for the better, not just re weight loss), inflammation lowering, anti-aging, it's easy, it works, you can eat "in the Zone" anywhere even on vacation and at parties...

Try incorporating Zone foods into you family's meals, to eliminate yoru food boredom. Now you can eat sandwiches, breakfast breads and rolls, pizzas, granola, , and more, and enhance your Zone results at the same time. I have hypothyroidism too. I added the Zone foods to my meals over 2 years ago when they first became available. I dropped another 17 pounds (I'd been maintaining close to my ideal weight for many years in the Zone). You can see lots of my recent meals using Zone foods if you go to my face book page (Sue Knorr: look at my Food photo album).

Hi Holly - I have a fantastic smoothie recipe which keeps me full for at least 4 hours. If you want it a little bit sweeter just add the tiniest pinch of Stevia. You could try raspberries - or blueberries (measure 1/2 cup for these). To measure the yoghurt I stand the blender bowl on flat scales and add till it reaches 250grams.

    1 cup strawberries
    handful of slivered almonds
    1 cup yoghurt
    7 grams protein powder
    1/2 cup cold water

Hi Holly, concerning WW, I actually ended up doing both, just as a frame of reference. I guess I could stop that now, because the way the Zone works, I always have plenty of points left over - and I don't feel hungry.

Hey ladies! Thank you for your points here. I think I'm struggling because I'm eating the same thing over and over..same protein, same ideas over and over because I'm not wanting to eat outside of zone. I might order food online things such as bread and pizza just to get me thru.

As for the Protein powder - how do you know which one to get? I'm not always great at looking at labels. Are these one you get online here or at the stores...if so does anyone buy one at the stores and it's good, no sugar stuff added...
I think I'm going to go back to my smoothies ..I loved them in the mornings.

Holly, I use Zone Protein powder because I like the way it blends in and I have excellent results with it. I've tried numerous brands but always go back to Zone protein.

I used Weight Watchers a few years ago, and it did work for me....for a while. I lost about 20 lbs using their 'point's program. However, I eventually hit
a plateau, and could never get past it. I regained about 10 lbs, staying on their program all the time, and frustratingly was stuck
at that weight for about two years. It was maddening. I was even running 3 - 5 miles a day, several days a week and still...no more weight loss.

I picked up my old original Zone book off the shelf around Thanksgiving this year. I could not be more pleased with the results. I've already lost those ten pounds and am
still going. I am never, ever hungry. And from the way I feel I am absolutely sure that I will be able to maintain this lower weight, without the struggle that
I had from the WW program. I've also noticed that going out to dinner a couple of times a week, and eating whatever I want, zone or not, does not affect my
    weight loss one bit.

Just thought I would share. I could not be happier.

Thank you for the re-motivation! I will order the protein powder and the pizza crust to try. Thank you all for your inputs, as I too did not want to lean back to WW as it does not make you feel as good as you do on the Zone. Your skin even improves with the Zone....You lose so much more and build so much more when your in the zone.

Thank you - I needed this! Sometimes I just need the extra words of why I'm doing this....and you did that for me.
