Hello, I am new to the zonediet. I have made a decision to make this a way of life for myself instead of just another fad diet to try. I have bought a book on the zone and have read about the blocks. I think I have a general idea of what I am suppose to be eating but with all the extra tools on the zone website, I am confused about how much protein I am suppose to be taking in according to my weight height body fat percent etc. And Im unsure if im eating enough protein. I would like to get some feed back, tips info anything from a long time zoner. Thanks:)

Hi Jena.
Use this Body Fat Caclulator to determine your daily protein needs.:

I've been maintaining a 100 pound weight loss with the Zone Diet for about 17 years. I'd be happy to help.

As far as blocks go, I should be eating plenty of fruits and veggies with my lean protein in each meal right? No processed breads right? Unless it is zone approved(which most aren't?).

Correct, lots of vegetables, some fruit (berries are the best fruit for the Zone) and pass on the bread, pasta and baked goods, unless it's one of the Zone breads, pastas or baked goods from this website (they're only sold here). And don't forget to add a dash of monounsaturated fat, foods like almonds, olives, olive oil an avocado.

I really appreciate your help and insight! So, this is the beginning of the second week I have been eating in the zone. I excercise 3 to 4 times a week and I'm wondering when I should start seeing results.

Hi, you can expect to feel a lack of hunger and your clothes getting looser, well as an increased feeling of energy and well being. The time frame differs between individuals.
