I realize it takes a lot of volume to get 1 block of cooked Spinach.
I again came across another article where researchers/scientists had compared frozen fruits and vegetables to fresh picked.
Fresh picked and not grocery store fruits and vegetables, which had sat around after picking waiting to be crated and packed. waited to be shipped. sat on shipping tricks (or airplanes) from CA or South America, unloaded and reloaded at at distribution center, shipped to their various stores, unloaded, placed 0n the shelves, and sitting n shelves until purchased.
.
Frozen fruits and vegetables, again compared to fresh picked with anywhere from 70% to 90%+ of the nutrient values, depending on the fruit or vegetable. And certainly much more than the average store shelved fruit and/or vegetable. Especially here in the Northeast, where most come from CA or South America. Esp. now, as we leave the season of availability of fresh picked from local farms.
(BTW - we had a glazing of wet snow last night, that stuck until mid-day today.)
And we are supposed to get up to possibly 4 inches on Saturday, maybe 6+ inches just north of us.
there has not been snow in this area before Halloween in 140 years, and then the record was 3 inches in Manchester, 20 miles North of us, which is expecting possible 6+ inches!)
.
Anyway, back on topic, so I looked at the package of frozen spinach my wife purchases.
Servings: 3.5 - we split the package in half.
Carbs per serving: 2
Fiber per serving: 2
netC per serving: 0 !!!
I know there's rounding. Probably rounded down on Carbs, and rounded up on Fiber;
But essentially, 0 net Carbs? !

John, that's why it takes so much to make a block. Snow...11+ predicted for tomorrow by us, about 100 mi south of you. Lucky me, I'll be flying into BDL at the peak of the storm...or maybe I won't if they close down for a while, we'll see.
