Hi Wendy,
The bagels I referred to in the post were part of a line of baked goods produced by Zone Labs, but they are no longer available. They were baked in a way which gave them the ability to promote a stable blood sugar level and keep insulin with in the range of the Zone. Regular bagels will not give the same result and are not recommended. If you choose to eat bagels do so with great moderation using them in condiment portions, a small piece of bagel with a 3 or 4 block meal.

It would be so nice if they could come up with a way to produce them that was more cost effective and so they had a better shelf life. Then they could be sold in local stores. It was nice to have them as a zone friendly choice once in awhile.

I would agree, I think that the initial cost was prohibitive for many people, and not selling them in stores really decreases the marketability.

And hence why they had to stop selling hem - not enough sales, which then kept the initial price high )and mostly prohibitive).
Larger distribution with the equivalent increase in availability, would increase sales and allow for reduced cost and therby price.
Thus allowing for more sales and a lower selling price.
