Kylie, you typically wouldn't be feeling like that at 4 if you're maintainign hormonal control with Zone meals and snacks 24/7. Teh fact you feel this way around 4 may or may not have to do with your lunch. If you already tried my suggestion to eat all favorable carbohydrates and you have also tried the hormonal adjsutmends as indicated on the chart in the link I posted, the next thing to do would be to change all your carbohydrates to favorable veggies.

Hi Kylie

Can you post a few days of what lunches you have been eating? You many need more fat as well.

Not to make this more confusing, but it may not be the lunch. I would be curious to hear about your meal timing and your activities. Not everyone is fortunate enough to experience satiety for 4-6 hours. I usually just scrape by at 4 hours, and this may be normal for you, as well.

Kylie another possibility is the carbohydrate content of all your meals. Since it only happens around 4, that could be the time of day it all kind I'd catches up with you; this used to be my same experience. If your meals still resemble the sample menu you posted earlier in this thread, the favorable carbohydrate and veggie changes are the way to go.

Kylie, I think you are doing well, I think this is telling me that you are probably settling in to the Zone. It does take several solid days, and sometimes the biggest problem in getting there is that we just haven't maintained insulin control long enough.

For me, I feel the best in the Zone!

Hi,
Whats the thinking on coffee??
I have cut it out, but really miss it??
If you slip out of the zone, should a zone meal or snack take you straight back??
Thanks
Sue

Dr. Sears recommends switching to decaf. A meal or snack will put you on the way back to the Zone. Whether you get "straight back" depends on many variables such as how far you went out of the Zone, the composition of the meal/snack, how long it takes your body to recover, etc. One moderately indulgent meal can set me back for several days.

You could try mashing some tofu with a fork. One of my veggie lasagne recipes in the Classic Zone Recipes forum uses mashed tofu instead of ricotta cheese. Any protein would substitute for cottage cheese. Egg white is an excellent Zone protien choice.

Kylie, I can't tell you what to change until I know what changes you've made since you last posted meals a couple weeks ago. If you could post a few days of your food diary I could give you some more suggestions. :)
