Hello, i am also new in this forum.
i am a beginner on the zone, this is my first week.
i am having difficulties with the night snack. i have two toddlers and we wake up early and go to sleep early. I am having dinner anyways usually an hour before i go to sleep and there is no way i can eat more after dinner (since it is so close to bedtime).

i have BF at about 8 and lunch about five hours after. afternoon snack at 4 and dinner at 730-800.
i currently live in southern africa and it is a very cold winter, so early bedtime with two toddlers are necessary for me.
can i have the night snack during mid morning and lunch an hour later (6 h after BF).
if not, can i skip the night snack.
and if not - can you please suggest small very light snacks you would eat just before sleeping.
    thanks much,
    godelya

If you getting up early I would suggest to have your breakfast earlier that 8. Regarding snack - I never have it, never feel like it. So instead of 11 blocks I have 10 a day...

    Hi godelya,

Since your meal is an hour before bedtime you don't need to eat again before bedtime, but you should work in another snack during day to ensure you get all the protein you need every day. It'e very important to get you rfull protein requirement daily. Don't simply skip the snack altogether.

Yes, it's absolutely fine to eat a snack and then have a meal an hour later. You could also add another block of P, C and F to one of your meals to make up for the bedtime snack. Some other options are to eat a snack before breakfast, or to eat two snacks between lunch and dinner, or to make your afternoon snack a 2 block snack.

Also, an 8 AM breakfast should be fine. Dr. Sears has said that his guideline about eating within an hour of waking is meant to prevent people from forgetting to eat breakfast.

Good luck, your choice to do the Zone is going to be great for your kids too!
