Wish my Zoning luck! On my way to a cookout to celebrate the 4th! Just had a snack and my contribution to the cookout is a pan of grilled veggies and pineapple and a dip made with cottage cheese and yogurt with some onion soup mix ( not quite in the zone but has to appeal to a lot of people) with cucumbers to dip.

How did it go Paula? Your dishes, including the dip, sound great for the Zone. Hope you had fun! I was at a BBQ yesterday too and had a wonderful time.

Sounds good Paula! We had a cookout the other day, again this is one that had to appeal to a lot of other people. I figure that the "others" are going to eat their burgers, dogs and brats anyway. So, I had a wide selection of buns (flat buns, regular buns, some sprouted wheat buns). Someone else brought the cole slaw and potato salad (I don't do these salads, but the others enjoy them). I made up a red/green pepper salad with sliced grapes, mixed in some mustard, yogurt, and spices to kind of give it a "waldorf salad" kind of feel.
To keep me in the Zone, I ate a lowfat turkey burger topped with a slice of tomato, onion, and mustard, skipped the bun, and ate my salad on the side, along with a very small spoonful of the potato salad. We also had some fresh strawberries set out for everyone to graze on!
Today is another picnic, and will probably do something similar in terms of bringing the salad.

Did great on Saturday! Today, not so good at dinner
but had planned on one day during vacation to eat a meal out of the Zone. Went for a 23 mile bike ride on the Cape Cod Rail Trail then had dinner at the Brewster Fish House! I'll be back on track tomorrow.

Really not all that bad if you also rode 23 miles... that's a good workout!

It was a great workout! And I'm happy to say I'm back in the zone today! Zone cereal with yogurt and fruit for breakfast, zone bar and milk for lunch, wine and cheese just a little while ago for a snack. Starting dinner now. Chicken Marsala from Trader Joes, brussel sprouts and ... I'm not sur yet, lol!
