I've been taking 7.5g/day of OmegaRx for several years now and switched to the liquid fish oil a year or so ago. Following the directions, I store it in a ceramic cup in the freezer. For about the last 6 months it seems like the fish oil is freezing and when poured is very cloudy.

Every now and then I get a bottle that doesn't freeze at all and is very clear.

I was under the impression (from Dr. Sears writings) that a very basic indication of the purity of fish oil is whether it will freeze.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? It didn't seem to be a problem last year and the fact the I occasionally have a bottle that doesn't freeze makes me wonder. I'm aware that each batch is independently tested, but what's up with my OmegaRx?

Phil, I have had similar results, and can't explain why. I currently take capsules now instead of liquid fish oil (and am taking a different brand due to expense). But, when I was taking liquid, I would occasionally have a bottle that would freeze up on me. In addition, here is another tip... if you store it in the freezer and finish up the bottle, set out the bottle on the counter for a few hours, and you will find that one more dose will appear! I assume that there is residual that forms on the walls of the bottle and stays there because of the cool/freezing temps. When allowed to come to room temp, it melts down and releases to the bottom of the bottle, and easily pours out!

So, don't throw out your bottle until you are sure that it is truly empty!

Great question. I would be very interested to hear what tech support would offer as an explanation for this.
