Hello! I am a young teen and doing The Zone. I am not that over weight, just about 10lbs. I am healthy, but weights been a struggle for a long time. All of my friends are tiny, where I am bigger than most of them. I really want to lose some body fat so I can wear a bikini, too! My parents did this a few years ago and still do it. I tried to do it a couple months ago but I failed :(. Now, I am trying again. I am really trying hard, and sometimes its hard but I always think if I do this, that I will look better. The reason I am posting is because I want to know when I might be able to see some results. I am already seeing a little bit. How long did it take you to lose 10 lbs? Thank you so much, and if you have any tips, please share!

The Zone is about losing fat not water weight or muscle. You can expedt to lose about 1-2 lbs per week. |

Nicole, congrats on your choice to follow the Zone lifestyle, and welcome to the forums! I think my first 10# took me about 2 months. But, it really varies from one person to another, and how closely you adhere to zone principles. Take some time to reflect on what it was that caused you to fail last time. I think that convenience is a big reason, it is so much easier to grab junk food than it is to prepare a healthy snack. Then, come up with some options that you are comfortable with. One big piece of advice, try not to compare yourself to your "tiny" friends. What you see on the outside does not always reflect what is on the inside. There are plenty of skinny people floating around that are quite unhealthy. Focus on YOUR success! |

Thanks so much, cranberrycat! I think I failed because last time, it was during the school year and didn't have much time to really follow through. Now it's summer and a lot easier! I also can work out a lot more. Thanks. |

Cool! I started Zoning in the summertime, also. It was a lot easier to start at that time because I had time to develop the habits and do some menu-planning. Once the habits are established, it is much easier to work it all in once the schedule gets busier. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing! |
