I started the Zone dieat 3 weeks ago. The first week I was sick as a dog. My body hurt from head to toe and my head felt like it would explode. After my 7 day withdrawl from nutritionaly void food and artificial sweeteners I feel great. After my second week I went to give blood and BP was 105/65...and passed out! My usual is 124/85 with Bp meds. After 2 days of feeling faint I went to the Dr. and he took me off all BP meds. I had been on BP meds for 25 years!
Now I know I am in the Zone and feel great but can no longer eat 3 blocks at a meal. I know I need to eat 11 blocks but I find two blocks at a time is all I can do without force feeding myself.
    Any suggestions?

WOW! Just goes to show you that food is a powerful DRUG! Just eat 2 blocks at a time just eat more frequently. See how that works for you.

Congtrats on your excellent results Kathy! Isn't it great to be free of the BP meds? (I used to need them too, but no more, thanks to the Zone). Tech's 2 block meal suggestiom is a good one. I eat 2 block meals and 2 block snacks throughout the day also. I works great for me.

You can reduce the amount of veggies by adding low-volume carbs to your meal. You can add 1/4 cup of black beans or garbanzos, and then you only need 2 more blocks of other favorable carb. Another idea is to eat 2-block meals and then have a cup of milk to satisfy your 3rd block requirement.

You can also eat 2-block meals/snacks through-out the day.
    (OR all 1 blocks - but that's a bit much ... a lot of eating time ...)

I believe that it is not recommended to eat 1-block meals throughout the day (it would mean every 1hr or so). I think it is important to maintain longer breaks between your meals to avoid insulin levels constantly getting elevated. That's why you should eat your meals as say 3 blocks and maintain 5-4 hrs break.

Actually, I rememeber when I started the Zone 2 years ago I was not able to eat my 3 block in the morning. I just decided to eat 2 instead of 3 and had 10 rather than the recommended 11 a day. I still lost weight and felt fine. Then I changed my breakfast food from cottage cheese + bowl of fruits (a lot of food to stomach in the morning) to blueberry smoothie which is easier and less volume
