i've been contemplating on taking omega 3 supplements lately and because of that i've been reading a lot. the benefits are astounding considering that i have a heart problem, hypertension, chronoic migraine, severe dry eyes, and pre-diabetes.

but...these are just written literature and advertisement. has anyone of you tried fish oil supplements? are the benefits really evident?

i would really appreciate your thoughts, thanks! :D;):w00t:

I take fish oil supplements. I have noticed that I have less aches/pains when I take fish oil.

I started with Fish Oil and Zone in April 2004.
Short version, came back from Dr. depressed, weight highest ever at 225-230, Cholesterol at 284, Dr. prescribed 90 day Zocor to lower cholesterol. Same day, stumbled upon Dr. Sears book OmegaRX Zone. Seemed to make sense, a lifestyle, not a "diet" nor a "fad" celebrity promoting his/her "secrets" etc. I decided, nothing to lose (took getting to this point to do some thing).
    .
Strictly switched to Zone eating and High Quality Dr. Sears Fish Oil (along with the Zocor).
After 45 days, 1/2 way into prescription, I seemed to have left Zocor at the hotel, could not find. I decided not to replace the Zocor and really test and see if Fish Oil and Zone lifestyle change would work. (YES, I am (was) very skeptical of ALL "DIETS"!).
    .
Went back to Dr. after the 90 days of (supposedly) being on Zocor. My cholesterol dropped down to 224! And I forget what my weight was down to, but it was not an insignificant drop.
    .
So, YES, there is a difference!
    .
Today, 7 years later, maintaining with a weight of about 164-165 and total Cholesterol at about 184. Right where i want to be!!! 150-169 is the "ideal" weight for my height, build, & frame.
    .
And this past fall I finally got around to donating some once favorite polo shirts I never wear because they are too big, and replacing those older "larger" shirts, that I have not worn, because they were too big. Tried on some "Mediums" - and they were too big, and I had to buy some Smalls!!!!!

    Hi kathie,

The results for the members of my family have been every bit as astounding as what you've read. I had hypertension for 10 years, and was on 2 high blood pressure meds that weren’t working for me. I ended up at a cardiologist's office because none of he meds my primary doctor prescribed meds lowered my blood pressure to a normal range and, as it turned out, the cardiologist wasn'table to lower it (tried 6 or 7 different blood pressure meds). I had also tried 3 brands of fish oil that had no impact either. It all changed with Omega Rx. I had immediate results with the first dose. With dosage adjustment help from Dr. Sears, and medication tapering help from my doctor, I was off both of the high BP meds two weeks after my first dose of Omega RX. That was 10 years ago and I haven’t had hypertension since then.

Three weeks after beginning Omega Rx (taking 5g daily dose of EPA and DHA) my cousin completely eliminated the Celebrex she had been taking for arthritis. My son, in high school at the time, had excellent results with Omega Rx re his ADD, his new found focus turning him into a different person and raising his grades from failing /barely passing to A’s and B’s (dose of about 16 grams EPA and DHA daily).

I have used omega 3 for my allergies: I had skin irritations and hay fever. Both are much better now, though not totally cured. I also have high (Total) cholesterol, but no medication because of my high HDL levels. I think that the HDL levels are high thanks to omega 3 - the values were much lower before this. I take 8 capsules per day. :hehe:

I've been taking fish oil supplements for about 3 months now. Some of the great benefits of this supplement to me are improve blood circulation, relieving my depression, sadness and anxiety, improve my vision and makes my skin shinny and glowing. If you will choose a fish oil supplements, make sure its natural and pure. Try to research that for you to choose what supplement is right and fit from you.
