    Happy Monday everyone!

As I mentioned in last week's "Accountability" thread, I'll be resuming our weekly threads every Monday. Feel free to jump in and and let us know how you're doing (the good, the bad and the ugly :D!!) -- we've got a great group here, providing endless support and inspiration.

This is a "no-judgement" zone (ha, no pun intended), so feel free to share as much or as little as you would like to. We're here for each other -- for me, this forum is one of the best parts of being in the Zone!

I'll post more of my personal Zone journey over the next few days.

Have a great week, and hope to hear from you all!

    My day today 11 blocks

Breakfast 8am - 1/4 cup frozen blueberries, 1/4 cup fresh blueberries, 1/3 banana, 1 block worth of whey protein powder, dash of turmeric, tsp of cocoa, tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. Blen all together, then add a little bit of water to make it drinkable and blend again. My favourite breakfast!

Lunch 12.45 pm - main meal: 200ml of asparagus soup (from carton, provides about 1C + 1/2F) with 2P of cooked chicken, all heated. Side dish: 1 tomato, 1 red pepper, 2 inch worth of cucumber all chopped and mixed with green leaves such as rocket, romain lettuce etc. Makes a huge bowl of salad - I count it as 1 carb block. Top up with 1P worth of low fat feta. Drizzle with olive oil (a bit), balsamic vinegar, sea salt, pepper. Desert: 1C of fresh strawberries. It is huge volume of food, hard to finish

Snack 5:45pm - 3 leaves from Romain lettuce, wrapped around a deli turkey slice (1P) with a bit of low mayo+horse radish. I had a bit less than 1 cup of strawberries to complete the carb content

Dinner - planned for 9pm - chicken breast roasted in foil, stuffed with one chopped sun dried tomato slice. Sprinkle with dried herbs, sea salt, pepper. Green mixed leaves salad on the side. Cubed aubergine, courgette, red onion and garlic grilled and then I pour tomato sauce over it and reduce to be quite thick consistency. I'll use 1/2 cup, recon it is about 1C. Then some fruit for dessert, probably I'll finish off a punnet of strawberries I was eating today (4 of the left, 1/2 C I think)

Snack - will miss that one

Today I'm spending my last day on vacation...a lunch-time visit with friends at a park, then some errands and playing with my grandsons for the afternoon, and then flying home late tonight. For breakfast at 7:30 AM I had Zone peanut butter granola with Greek yogurt, strawberries, raspberries and Greek yogurt and peanuts. Lunch at about 1 PM was a Zone bagel with light cream cheese, smoked wild salmon, and tomato slices, a salad, and a Zone chocolate chip cookie and a tablespoon or two from the half gallon of Green's ice cream that was being served. Snack will most likely be a Zone brownie and some berries, or a pretzel with hummus. My dinner tonight will be a chocolate almond butter sandwich on a Zone cinnamon bun, eaten while on the drive to the ariport. Snack will be on the flight, around 9:30, either Zone cookies, bagel chips or a pretzel.

Thanks for starting this thread, Laurie!

I have been out of sync as far as my appetite control goes. Seems to be the last week of my cycle, generally. NOTHING stops it. This week is better.

Haven't been on my fish oil as of late. Think I need to go back on it, I really feel the difference when I am not taking it, more aches and pains! I had stopped it prior to surgery (request of anesthesia) and have just not gotten back into it.

I have begun the biking challenge last week, and enjoying that quite a bit! I have been taking daily rides between 5-10 miles. Yesterday, I timed my ride between lines of thunderstorms, and today I was being chased by a dog!

Hi Everyone! I just saw last night that the forums are back up again, yay! Last time I checked in I had just found out we were having a baby. I am now in the last trimester (yikes!) of my pregnancy. We're having a boy, to be named after his dad's cousin and my father in law. I've not been following the Zone as much as I should have, hardly at all to be honest. My husband and I haven't been eating horribly, but we haven't been eating the best either. I've been gaining more weight in the pregnancy than I should be and I decided a couple days ago that enough was enough. I started to Zone again yesterday and am hoping I'll stick to it for the rest of my pregnancy and many months and years to come. I've been taking my fish oil daily, so at least I was doing something, right? I'm glad the forum is back. It helps me stay focused and motivated.

    Hi, Jen!

Congrats! I don't remember if you had mentioned your pregnancy before or not... or maybe I just have bad memory! LOL!

The important thing is that you are here now and you are making healthy choices now. Don't look back! I have wasted too much time looking back at my mistakes (in the past), and it is best to just focus on the here and now.

    Stay in touch!

    Hi Jen,

I was just reading your old post a couple days ago, the one where you'd announced your pregnancy. I'm so glad you posted today and very happy to hear you’re doing well! Remember to make sure to eat extra blocks. Dr. Sears recommends adding 3 more fully balanced blocks daily for pregnancy (and breastfeeding). You can do it either by adding another balanced block (1P, 1C, 1F) to each meal, by adding more protein fat adn carb to you Zone food packages or by adding extra snacks throughout the day. It's excellent for your son that you're taking fish oil. I just returned from spending a week and a half at my daughter's house and playing with my little grandsons, 7 months old today and 2 1/2 years old, both of them Omega Rx babies. :) The 2 yr old loves veggies (in fact shuns meat at the moment, in favor of veggies). You can see a photo of him helping make kale chips a couple days ago, in my fb photos (Sue Knorr, mobile downloads album).

Good luck and please keep in touch!
