Hi everyone!! I am pretty new to this forum. I have recently read the Omega RX Zone book, and decided to get a blood test. I am not ready to drop 150$ for the AA/EPA test, so the ones just got the Fasting Lipid Profile, as well as Fasting Insulin test. I need some help getting my Triglyceride/HDL ratio, from the test. Age: 22 Cholesterol 123 Triglycerides 45 HDL CHOL., DIRECT 51 HDL as % of Cholesterol 41 Chol/HDL Ratio 2.41 LDL/HDL Ratio 1.39 Lipoprot (ldl)Direct 71 I am a bit confused as to what number to use for HDL. My Fasting Insulin says <2.0 uIU/ml Based says that if the fasting insulin below 5 then it is considered to be an idea state of wellness

I would use the direct HDL. your TG/HDL ratio is excellent, as well as your fasting insulin. Great job!

Your actual HDL result is 51.  The other number, 41, is telling you that your HDL cholesterol makes up 41% of your total cholesterol (51/123 = .41).
