Fish oil dose language (for toddlers)

Hi everyone, I read this question from doctor sears. When he says "2.5 grams of EPA and DHA" does he mean you add the amount of EPA to the DHA in the fish oil and get to 2.5 grams? For example Dr Sears Omega-3 capsules have 400g DHA and 200g EPA per pill. So you add them together to get 600g EPA/DHA. Therefore to reach the toddler amount you would have to take a little over 4 pills (600g x 4 = 2500g). Is this correct? Or does the "2.5 gram" number come from somewhere else? Thanx mark Q: At what age can children start taking fish oil and what dose is safe for them? Is two years too young? A: I would recommend taking 1 gram of EPA and DHA per day in the liquid form as early as six months and then increasing to 2.5 grams of EPA and DHA per day after age 2.

Mark, you are correct. Add up the mg between EPA and DHA to get the total g of fish oil.

Hi Mark, Yes, Dr. Sears' 2.5 recommendation refers to the amount of combined EPA and.
