    Hello there,

I decided to post my daily menu since I feel I need some help with it.

I know the variety is poor, but the thing is I cut all dairy, chicken, red meat and tomatoes since I break out of them.

Now I mostly eat veggies, boiled eggs, salmon (no salt or seasonings) and healthy nuts for fat. Please, if you got a minute, would you review my menu and if possible to tell me, is the eggs or the salmon too much daily? I feel good with them and my cholesterol is good.

I really love it as it is and just wanted to make sure I'm on track. Total is 10 blocks. I work behind a desk so I don't really move a lot. 3 times weekly I do some 30 min exercise.  (I used to eat 8 blocks only) but incorporated 2 more just for good measure, since 8 is too less. I took a note to myself and listened to some good advices here from you and now I feel better. Thanks in advance for every single advice you can give me, I will really appreciate it.

Breakfast: 1 medium Apple, 2 boiled eggs, 4 walnut halves (2 blocks)

Snack: 1 cucumber, 2 boiled eggs, 6 almonds (2 blocks)

Lunch: 2 cups celery, 3 oz salmon, 6 almonds (2 blocks)

Snack: 1 head romaine lettuce, 3 oz salmon, 6 almonds (2 blocks)

Dinner: 1 head romaine lettuce, 3 oz salmon, 4 walnut halves (2 blocks)

Up date: I just got advice from outside the forum that too much omegas can lead to inflammation so I was thinking to substitute the salmon with Tilapia fish filets. It will be so much better, correct?

    Christina,

I don't think you are eating too many eggs or salmon.  Both are very good sources of protein.  Just make sure the eggs are egg whites, and not the yolk--that could make a difference as the yolk contains AA which contributes to inflammation.  So, if that is the case, then cut back on the eggs or switch to egg whites only.

I don't have a problem with the variety, whatever works for you!
I have not heard that too much omegas can lead to inflammation.  Maybe too much omega-6 is what was talked about.  But salmon is known for omega-3, and so I don't believe you can get too much omega-3 from salmon.  Quite the opposite, most people can't possibly get enough omega-3 from food sources, and that is why we generally supplement it with fish oil.

Here are my comments on your meal plan:

Breakfast-I would eat 4 egg whites in place of 2 whole eggs, to avoid the AA.  Walnuts are a fair choice for fat, so if you eat nuts frequently, maybe better to limit the walnuts and use other nuts more often (almonds, cashews, pistachios are all really good sources of fat)

    Snack-same comment on the eggs

Lunch-I doubt that you are getting enough carb from the celery, as it is very low density.  2 cups is only one block of carb.

Snack-wow, are you really eating an entire head of lettuce?  Actually, even with that amount, you are still not getting enough carb (you'd have to eat 2 heads for one block of carb)

Dinner-same thing with the head of lettuce, not enough for this meal

Quick reminder, if you take my advice and eliminate the egg yolk from the boiled eggs, then you will need to double your fat block, as your protein will become fat free.

    Hi Christina,

Ditto from me on the advice to discard the egg yolk.  Try to purchase wild caught salmon instead of eating farm grown fish.  Eating a variety of veggies and fruits will give you a broader range of polyphenols.  It will also keep things interesting in the long run.

Thnaks both of you ladies! Wonderful comments I think I will reduce a little bit the yolks and the walnuts. And to add some variety to my veggies!
