    Hello my favorite forum

I have a question that is bothering me and I did some research online but also wanted to see your points of view.

Since my Carbs comes mostly from veggies, I noticed I eat too much broccoli, cabbage and Brussels Sprouts. (just to add some more info: Even before I discovered the Zone, they were part of my diet for ages)

I always knew about Goitrogens and now Im worried if I might damage my Thyroid Hormones from eating too much of those veggies. Also, I don't eat any salt, so I'm not sure about  iodine intake? I eat 4-5 oz Salmon every day and about 7 whole walnuts.

Is that enough of iodine? I'm trying to find some RDA for iodine but no luck so far. (except one article saying that 150 mcg is the minimum/daily)

Can somebody please help me figuring out am I eating too less of a iodine or the salmon and the walnuts are enough? THANK YOU as always, you are my biggest supporter! I really appreciate it!

    Wishing everybody great day!!!

    Hi Christina,

An endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid issues would be a good resource for personalized info.

If you're worried about your iodine intake, you could always consider taking a well rounded multivitamin (making sure it's one that contains iodine).

A couple tips related to lowering inflammation (not re iodine), make sure your salmon is wild caught, not farmed, and consider switching the walnuts to a monounsaturated fat source.

Thank you dear Sue, I appreciate all information, and I am back to almonds since the kind of fats are better.

    Thanks again!

My recommendation is look at this book if you have thyroid issues. Iodine can be a problem for Hashimotos sufferers so make sure you are informed before taking it.

Gluten is one of the biggest triggers for auto-immune thyroid disease.
