    Hello everybody!

I just came across Glycemic Index for Broccoli, which is 0 (zero)... the same as Glycemic Load for this food...

So, I was wondering - does that mean we can eat more than the usual recommended 2 cups as 1 block of carbs? Let's say for a meal I want to have 3 cups of them instead 2. But I want to stick 1 Block Protein and 1 Block Fat only.

Do I need to increase the Protein and Fat amount with half Block each, just to stay in the Zone? Or am I gonna be fine and still in the Zone if GI and GL is 0?
    That makes me very confused...

Thank you in advance for every one who give some suggestion!

PS. Update: I just double checked and saw the GI for Broccoli was not 0 but 10. I must have been looking some wrong information before.

    But my question still remains

Can low GI foods as green veggies make harm if we take a little bit more of them than the recommended ratio of 40:30:30?

It's fine to eat 3 cups of broccoli and not increase P or F blocks.  In fact 1 block of broccoli contains 3 cups cooked, 4 cups  raw.     You might be using an older version of the food block list.  Here's the updated one:  http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Quick...fault.aspx

The most favorable Zone veggies, like broccoli, cabbage, etc.  have such low GL's (meaning they also have large volumes pre block) that it's not likely you'd be able to eat too much of them at one sitting.

Thank you Sue! I was hoping for this exact answer! Thank you for the updated Block Info page as well. I like it way much better than the old one.

Thanks for delivering piece in my heart when I'm eating my broccoli
