I have finally perfected my diet to the point where I can actually make it up to 6 hours without getting hungry. All of my life, even the last few years on the zone, the best I could do was 3 hours. My secret? I added a block of oatmeal at breakfast and a block of rye bread at lunch and dinner. I feel better, I think better, and I have better endurance. I race bikes off-road, so I get a lot of excercise and I have a very high metabolism, in fact I weigh less now at 47 than I did at 16. I don't know my body fat percentage but it is very low. I just had to tell someone that might understand!

:D Congrats!! I have been on the zone for almost 3 weeks and I really hope to get to the point you are at.
My husband is debating on starting on the Zone as well. I keep telling him to read the book I have (A Week in the Zone). He is a Mountain Biker as well. His big argument is that he was taught when he was competitive in road biking that you need to carb load and I am trying to change his mind about that. Your post will really help me on that. |

Way to go, Gary!!!! That's the right way to do the zone. Start in the middle, and then make adjustments to fit YOU! You are unique, just like everyone else!
Great results!!! Great job!!! |
