We have a five months daughter taht has been feeded up to now with her mother's milk. In the next weeks we want to feed her with fruits, vegetables; etc.. it is easy to give her carbs and fat (apples..) but what about proteins? I don't think she can eat meat or white eggs. Am I wrong? Please let me know. Thanks, Pancho

Hi Pancho, You're not wrong! It's recommended to wait until about 8 months of age before offering your baby meats or egg yolks. Egg whites are more likely to cause an allergic reaction, so it's better to wait until 12 months of age for them. Your baby will get all the protein she needs right now from the breast milk, but if you want to supplement protein, you can give her unsweetened whole milk yogurt or kefir. I did this with my first baby, who is now a healthy 6 year old, and I plan to do this again with my 2nd, who is only 1 and 1/2 months old right now. Good luck!

Correct. I did not give my little girl any meats or eggs until she was 9 months. Once the Doctor told me it was OK. meats and citrus are the last things that you introduce into their diet. She is getting all she needs from your milk. My little girl is now 18 months old and still will not touch meats or eggs. So dont be surprised if one day she will eat the food then the next she will not. She has a thing about textures. So I give her peanut butter sandwiches when she will take them and lots of Milk. She loves crackers and fruit but that is about it. She is very health. So dont worry too much about what they do and dont eat in the beginning just take it slow.
