I'm new to the Zone and i'm trying to figure out if these Protein Chips are ok. In one serving there are 3.5 grams of fat (0 trans and saturated), 14 Carbs (3g from fiber) and 10 grams of protein. How many blocks would this food be? Would it be a carb block or a mixed protein/carb block. Thank you for any help. I am trying to drop a few pounds so I do not want to hinder progress. Thanks again

The Carbs are probably form flour?
    And most likely (highly) unfavorable.

    AT 3.5 g fat = 1 block
    At 10g Protein = a little over 1 block
At 14-3=11 Carbs (unfav) = a little over 1 block.

Though balanced, not Zone favorable or Zone balanced.  One of the main points of Zone is hormonal control, not just balancing F, P, C.
Probably OK in a pinch, but I would not eat on a regular basis.

    Hi James,

I just checked the ingredients of the protein chips on the Kay's Naturals website.  I clicked on the cheese flavor and the major sources of carbohydrate in those chips are tapioca starch, potato flour and yellow degermed unenriched corn flour.  This product is most definitely composed of unfavorable carbohydrate.  If the ingrediends in your variety are similar, consume it with moderation.  Unfavorable carbohydrate should be limited to not more than 25% of all the carbohydrate in a meal.

Zone bagel chips are an excellent alternative.
