Howdy. How does everyone do their strawberry blocks? I know the charts say 1 cup, but how does everyone interpret that?

Also, I think this is more of a confirmation than anything, but if I consume fat-free protein blocks in a meal I should double my fat blocks for that meal. Is that correct?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Yes, if your protein source is fat-free then you need to add the extra blocks of fat to your meal :-)

As for strawberries, I just put however many will fit in the measuring cup and if there looks to be a lot of empty space in the cup in between I'll add a couple more on top and that is it. Sometimes I just eyeball it and err on the side of maybe a little over because I tend to be conservative with my eyeball estimates - lol :-)

    Hope this helps! :-)

I cut small ones in half, medium ones in quarters, and large ones in 8th and call a cup a cup. Sears says 1 cup cut finely, but that's about as fine as I'd want my strawberries, so I'm hoping that's right because it's a lot of berries.

You do not have to be so specific with Carbs, in actuality the ratio of carbs to protein is not exactly 1 to 1 for everynoe, most nearly hardly anyone. It is a starting place.
    .
That said, I weigh and use grams initially for fruit - until I am comfortable with the amount:
    Small handfull of blueberries,
About 6-7 strawberries (depends on sizes),
    About 12 grapes,
    About 5 cherries,
    . . .

Mike, to make things easier, the plate dividing method of the Zone works just as well and there's no measuring involved. I lost 100 pounds using it. You can find it here: http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Quick...fault.aspx

Mike, it doesn't really matter as long as you are doing it consistently each time. I tend to do the same as Jennifer by judging the amount of space in between and then adding more to accomodate. Also, I measure them whole, not sliced. If they were sliced down, there would be less space between berries. So, as whole berries, I tend to go a bit over the cup measurement.
