A good alternative to a jarred or canned sauce is to just make your own. I prefer to use crushed tomatoes or tomato puree. I don't recall the brand, but most of the time I can find one without too many additives without going to a specialty food store. |

Thanks Cran -- actually, that was what I was asking about -- canned tomatoes for making my own sauce. So far, the brand that seems "purest" is the Pomi brand (1/2 C = 20 cal, 0 g fat, 4 g carb, 3 g fiber, 1 g protein). Just wondering if there were any others out there.

Laurie, I don't use canned tomatoes very often, but when I do I buy Nature's Promise, an organic store-brand that's relatively inexpensive as organic foods go. It's available at Stop & Shop and Giant in the Northeast an Mid-Atlantic states. I'll also pick up just about any brand that's on sale. I haven't really ever had trouble finding canned tomatoes without sugar added. |

Hi all,
Isn't this article stating they are selling pizzas in mexico? I am happy for them but when are they going to sell them in the US? I know they sell them on the website but it would be better to just be able to go to the store and pick it up. Even Cedar Lane I e-mailed a question to them and they never responded to me. |

It's been four months. I could definitely use something new in the ZoneFast packets; any update on when these will come to market? |

Well "technically" there are still 2 weeks left of fall. However, according to my thermometer, winter has definitely set in! |

We (Southern NH) will get into the single digits tonight or tomorrow night before warming up to a high in the upper 30's (maybe even as high as 40 degrees F) on Saturday - just in time for my next Fall (Winter) hike on Saturday. Of course the mountains will be much colder, plus the added wind chill. (Now where's that new winter down packable jacket I bought myself for Christmas?)

Still no definite date for the release of the pizzas yet. I'm as excited as you and will let you know when I hear something firm. Stay tuned, they're worth the wait. |

We are about 2 weeks ahead of schedule in terms of ice forming on waterways. If our cold temps continue, we may be able to start ice fishing! |

Does Cedarlane still make Zone pizza?
I recall trying their pizza a few years ago when it was available in stores. It was very good, and I don't recall having any problems with it, other than cooking (oven only, didn't do as well in the microwave). |

BUMMER! I liked their items, although difficult to find in stores. And, the only way to order the zone products was in bulk (couldn't order a "few" things).
I really think that they could have made that work with better marketing. |
