I have been having smoothies for breakfast and I am putting 3 teaspoons of either fish oil or olive oil in it. I am also taking my Omegas. Should I be taking the Omegas if I am putting oil in the smoothie? Thanks!

Yes, it's fine. The fish oil is considered supplemental.

    Kimberly,

Here are my thoughts on it, each tsp of fish oil has about 4.5 g of fat, so 3 tsp actually gives you 13.5 g of fat in the smoothie. Then, if you add your usual olive oil to the smoothie, you could potentially be taking in a total of 22.5g of fat in that smoothie. That is a lot of extra fat, and may hamper your weight loss efforts.

I recommend you continuing the fish oil in the smoothie, but then backing off of the olive oil for that meal.
