YES, noticed the NEW posting features:  BOLD, Italic, and Underline, as well as Quoted comments.

    Of course, marking
quoted info, is not really applicable in new postings, but for quoting existing postings.

Glad the forums are finally a bit more up-to-date.

The only thing I don't get is how to form paragraphs with this upgrade. When I post an "original" post, the paragraphs and the editing features are there, but if do a reply, things get really messy, and I don't have access to all of those neat features! My paragraphs run together.

See my reply in your other thread.
    .
    Use periods with RETURN.
    .
As I have done here in this QUICK REPLY - which uses older method of editing.
    .
Of course, after my entry of Quick Reply, if I go into EDIT it, then I get the new style.

    Ahh, that would work!

I wonder if it has to do with the computer?  Responding to this at work, I am getting the new style.  But, at home, when I use our home computer, I am getting this small box with no editing features at all.

And, I also wonder why tech support was so anxious to jump in and edit my post, but now when we have a legitimate concern, they are nowhere to be seen?

ok, so I haven't had a lot of time to experiment, but the new editing functions do not show up on my laptop! Then, when I log in on another computer, there they are. TECH SUPPORT please help, is there a setting that I need to change on my laptop for this to work?

    Hi Cran,

Here's what's happening on my computer:

    ·         When I'm in a forum, the "Add New Topic" link doesn't give me any formatting options.

    ·         When I'm reading a topic, the "Add Reply" link at the top of the page doesn't give me any formatting options.  The "Quick Reply" at the bottom of the page gives me bold, italics, underline and quote options.

    ·         From within a particular post, the "Reply" link doesn't give me any formatting options.

    ·         From within my own post, the "Edit" link doesn't give me any formatting options.  I'm also not seeing the "Delete" option on my own posts (I knew it was removed a few weeks ago, but thought it had been replaced).

In summary, the only time I see formatting options are in the "Quick Reply" field at the bottom of the page within a forum topic.

Cran/others -- is your experience the same?  If not, what web browser and version are you using?  For example, I'm using Internet Explorer v 8.0.6.  You can find this information under "Help" and "About ... " on your browser's toolbar.

Also, I've been able to get all kinds of formatting to work (see my "testing" below) by doing the following:

Enter your text with the desired formatting in a word processor (I use Microsoft Word) and save as HTML.  Then, open the HTML document in a text editor, copy the contents, paste into the edit box of the forum, and then Submit.  I can use this approach in any of the posting/editing options listed above.

Finally to Tech Support – is this approach of creating posts with HTML tags "ok" to use?  For example, if it's creating posts that are too large and will slow down the opening of a topic, then let us know so we don't create performance issues.

And if anyone has an easier way of posting with more robust formatting options, please let us know J !

    Laurie

When I click REPLY - I get the NEW formatting options.  Blue Header with B, I, U and Quotes.   With DESIGN and HTML at the bottom.

When I do ADD NEW TOPIC, I also see the new Blue Header.

When I use "Quick Reply" at the bottom - I see the letters B, I, & U in Gray boxes and the word Quote.  Which didn't exist before, but looks like a feature of previous version that was turned on (?).

DELETE and EDIT were both removed.

AND Only Edit was returned.  ( I requested EDIT and I gave a reason and I guess they listened?)

Hi John -- when I hit "Reply", I see the following (screenshot):

    Zone Forum - Reply

Unless I'm overlooking it, I don't believe I have the Blue Header or DESIGN/HTML options.

Are you seeing the Blue Header in my screenshot?

    Thanks!

Laurie, I see things as John described them.  I didn't look at you screenshot because at the moment I'm too tired to make a "Live " account , which is needed to view it (sorry!).  I use Internet Explorer 8.  You can't easily overlook the blue header and Design/HTML choices.

Thanks Sue -- I was afraid of that with Windows Live -- thanks for letting me know! I'm going to re-post the screenshot using something else.

Ok, I'll watch for it.  Oh, and in case there are multiple versions of Internet Explorer 8, I'm specifically using 8.0.6001.18928.

Thanks Sue -- I've updated my prior post with the screenshot. If the editing bar and DESIGN/HTML options are that obvious, then it's just missing for me. So interesting, especially since we're running the same version of IE. I'm on my work laptop, which is running Windows XP. I've also tested on my home laptop, which is running Windows Vista. So it looks like it's not related to the operating system nor the browser.

Tech -- any thoughts on what may be causing the formatting, "DESIGN" and "HTML" options to appear for some of us, but not for others? Perhaps there is an internet option we need to set? As detailed earlier in this thread, I'm only getting the B, I, U and Quote buttons in the Quick Reply at the bottom of a thread.

    Thanks!

No, it's def. not there on your screen.   I just took a screen shot of mine to put into this post for you to see, but it's not letting me paste it here.  On my HP laptop with Windows Vista and the browser I mentioned I'm seeing the white reply box inside a blue tab, with the tab name(s) at the bottom left (two tab choices there; Design or HTML), and a toolbar at the top of tab with B I U and a pair of thick bolded large quotation marks.

This discussion is helpful, now I know I am not alone in that I get a different posting experience, depending on what computer I am on. It would really be helpful if TECH SUPPORT would chime in on this...
